Bundaberg based Coral Coast Mariculture produces seafood of the highest quality.

Soft Shell Crabs

Coral Coast Mariculture, based at the Bundaberg Port, produces soft shell crabs and specialised tropical seafood of the highest quality from sustainable aquaculture. The company has a 25 ha marine aquaculture production farm at Littabella Creek 50 km north of Bundaberg and 3 ha seafood processing and wharf complex at the mouth of the Burnett River, adjacent to the pristine waters of Hervey Bay (double click on the photos to enlarge). While initial production is focused on soft shell crabs (Portunus pelagicus), other exciting products are being developed including tropical abalone, cobia (black kingfish) and barramundi fingerlings.

Soft shell crabs are one of the worlds' seafood delicacies, produced for more than 100 years from wild caught crab in Chesapeake Bay, USA. Coral Coast Mariculture is the first company to commercially produce this exciting new product for the Australian market entirely from aquaculture - from egg to product. Harvested when moulting, the shell-less crab is cooked and eaten completely, providing an easily prepared, delicious taste sensation that has created great excitement in the Australian restaurant industry. This innovative, Australian developed, aquaculture technology was recognised nationally in 2001 gaining a Jaguar Award for Excellence for Innovation in Produce.

Coral Coast Mariculture can also supply you with all your aquaculture equipment direct from the manufacturers, including;
